Perk Up Your Facial Skin for Your Holiday Parties

Facelift Rome, GAAt Snodgrass & Robinson, we take pride in our plastic surgery expertise for procedures such as facelifts and mommy makeovers. But we also offer various non-invasive options for facial rejuvenation. Microdermabrasion is one of those offerings, and it’s a great procedure to have before you start running here and there for your various holiday parties.

Better living through crystals

Say the word “crystal” around a New Age aficionado and you’re likely to get a full-on dissertation about various holistic properties and life extending mumbo jumbo. All this with a little Yanni on the person’s Spotify feed.

At Snodgrass & Robinson, we think there is a better use for crystals — putting them to work removing the layer of old, dull, damaged skin cells from your face.

That’s right, our team uses microcrystals to basically abrade the top layer of your skin. The concept is similar to a light sandblasting. That’s the idea behind microdermabrasion, but instead of removing unwanted stains or paint, you’re removing the dull, lifeless external layer of your epidermis. Microdermabrasion exposes the glowing, fresh skin underneath.

What skin problems does microdermabrasion help?

Microdermabrasion is effective when used for certain skin conditions:

  • Solar lentigines
  • Melasma
  • Dilated pores
  • Oily skin
  • Thick skin
  • Mild, shallow acne scarring

How microdermabrasion works

Microdermabrasion is very effective and very easy to take, with no downtime. It’s non-invasive and non-surgical. It involves the use of aluminum oxide or sodium chloride crystals to exfoliate the skin surface. The crystals are sprayed onto the skin through a wand that also suctions back the crystals and any dead skin that has been removed. The degree of exfoliation is determined by the amount of suction used, along with the number of passes made over an area.

Anywhere from five to 12 microdermabrasion sessions are used to enhance skin hydration, sebum production, and texture. Appointments are spaced two to three weeks apart to allow the skin to recover. No anesthesia or numbing agents are necessary. Plus, you can return to work or your typical activities right after your session.

Want to put crystals to work making your skin refreshed and renewed just in time for your holiday parties? Call the team at Snodgrass & Robinson, (706) 378-0200, to make your appointment for microdermabrasion.
